My research interests cover (Empirical) Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, and Digital Health. In my research, I aim at improving the reliability & quality of software systems and the productivity of development teams, and assess the effectiveness of development/ management practices. In general, I am very sceptic about claims about software engineering, e.g. myths and hearsay about the effectiveness of doing things one way or another, and prefer evidence-based assessment of such claims. I am always open to supervise prospective PhD candidates who have a keen interest and demonstrated ability in empirical software engineering and applications of AI/ML in software engineering and Digital Health related themes. Unless you are applying for a specific PhD project, I expect you to develop initial ideas about your potential PhD project before contacting me.
